What's the skinny?
Fat loss- people want it: they dream about it, plan for it, even work for it! But it doesn’t always happen the way we want it to. While it’s normal to have some body at (hello- we have to protect our organs!) sometimes there are areas we look in the mirror and think, “What gives?” When it comes to women there can be some exceptionally stubborn fat that clings to our thighs, abdomen, and even our chin. It can be even more frustrating because you can do cardio all day long, but you don’t get to choose where the fat loss is, and then you can work the muscle group you WANT that fat loss in but instead just grow muscle. Which, to be clear, isn’t necessarily bad, but excess fat combined with growing muscle just makes for a bulkier appearance overall.
What is CoolSculpting
Enter CoolSculpting: the 20th-century fat reduction treatment that’s noninvasive, nonsurgical, and features no anesthesia. Did we mention too that it typically has no downtime? Seems like a no-brainer. So what exactly is this cool new way to freeze fat? It’s an innovative way to freeze and kill fat cells without hurting the surrounding tissue, effectively reducing 20-25% of fat cells in the treated area. Even better, Cool Body Sculpting Center has the newest technology- the Cool Sculpting Elite. We’ll get into why that’s important in a minute. CoolSculpting is the only treatment that is FDA-cleared to permanently eliminate fat in 9 areas of the body. The way we achieve it? We start with building a personalized treatment plan for your body to address the areas that you want. We discuss prices, payment options, and how many sessions you may need to achieve your goal. There is no one-size-fits-all all with CoolSculpting which is why it is so important to go to a place that specializes in this investment in your body.
How does CoolSculpting work?
The applicator is going to essentially vacuum seal itself around the tissue being treated to maintain maximum contact throughout the treatment. Remember when I said CoolSculpting Elite was important? Here’s why: the new system has enhanced contoured applicators to fit your curves better. When it comes to that vacuum seal and tissue contact the CoolSculpting Elite has been shown to have 31% more coverage than the old system giving you up to 18% more fat loss. As Sharpay Evans once said, “We’re out with the old and in with the new,” and it certainly is fabulous.
When we turn the applicator on it’s going to get cold, not like taking a refreshing dip in the pool, but like maybe taking an ice bath cold. When this begins you might feel a little tingling or stringing but it’s going to go numb in approximately 5-7 minutes. When that happens all you need to do is relax while the process of Cryolipolisis begins.
Cryolipolisis is when we expose areas of fat to an extremely cold temperature that they cannot survive in.
The cells then die and are naturally expressed through your excretions over the next 90 days. You’ll need to do your part too by maintaining your weight, moving your body, and fueling your body with the nutrition that’s best for you; you’ll start to see results in no time. You’ll also need to massage the treated areas 1-2 times a day for about 2 minutes. This is going to continue to help break up that tissue and encourage it to be emptied through the lymphatic system.
Within those 90 days following your treatment, you’ll begin seeing results as early as 6 weeks, and you’ll be able to fully appreciate your results at the end of 90 days. Keep in mind that oftentimes with the individualized treatment plans it is sometimes recommended to treat the affected area 1-2 times, so if you’re being treated twice, you’ll be treated again at the 6-week mark and 90 days after the second treatment is when you’ll really be able to see and appreciate those results.
Of course while there is the recommended treatment plan and some homework for you to do once you get home, we have some products that can help you along the way. As one of the top rated Skin Medica retailers in the area we offer two products that can help you on your journey: Firm and Tone Body Cream and the Neck Correct Cream. Now these two lovelies deserve a whole post of their own, but in short they help the skin maintain it’s firmness (so it doesn’t look saggy or crepey) and help out with the texture and tone of the skin.
How much does CoolSculpting cost?
A 2020 study from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons showed that the average cost of lipsuction was $3,637. According to a national survey done by CoolSculpting the average cost of treatment is $3,200.
CoolSculpting pros and cons
All of this sounds great, right? So, it begs the question: why would someone choose another fat loss treatment over CoolSculpting? There are so many things on the market right now: liposuction, and even sono bello. The thing is all these other treatments are invasive, some of them contain anesthesia. And, when someone is cutting you open and putting you under that brings in a whole new set of risks; complications, infection, and even death. Besides that- who can afford one to three weeks of downtime after being stitched up? With Cool Body Sculpting Center’s usage of the CoolSculpting Elite system we can treat 2x the fat in two hours and with no downtime.
